AN URBAN ADVENTURE FILM
// A film by Danny Mizicko // Presented by STUCK IN OHIO
// ABOUT THE FILM
THE YO is a feature-length documentary chronicling the adventures, people, places, and stories that shaped a generation of friends in Youngstown, Ohio. Spanning more than 20 years of filmmaker Danny Mizicko’s footage from his hometown, what began with a camera and a desire to capture the world around him grew into a time capsule of life in a Rust Belt city, and a love letter to the place that shaped him.
// HOMETOWN PREMIERE
Nearly 2,000 people came together at historic Stambaugh Auditorium on August 30, 2026, for the world premiere of THE YO in its hometown of Youngstown. The evening was made even more special when Youngstown Mayor Derrick McDowell surprised us with a Certificate of Appreciation recognizing our work in the community.
// The Journey Continues
THE YO is entering its next chapter as it begins its film festival journey.
We look forward to sharing the film with wider audiences in 2027. Stay tuned for updates.
